‘Dirty Rotten Cheater’s’ Indian avatar to be called ‘Bluff Master’
MUMBAI: Star India’s next big game show, its adaptation of UK-based Distraction Formats’ Dirty Rotten Cheater, is to be called Bluff Master. And it will be in Hindi.
Information available with indiantelevision.com indicates that the show, which is scheduled to go on air in “October-November”, will be part of the programming matrix of Star’s new metro-centric Hindi entertainment channel StarOne. The channel which Star India COO Sameer Nair has termed a “Star World in Hindi” is slated for an October-end launch. No official word on the matter was, however, forthcoming from either Star or the production house doing the show — Siddhartha Basu’s Synergy Communications.
When contacted, Star India senior vice-president content and communications Deepak Segal would not be drawn into a comment. Basu on the other hand did offer, “We are doing a show called Bluff Master for Star. That’s all I can say.”
It was in July that Indiantelevision.com broke the news that Hindi entertainment television’s lead broadcaster had bought the format rights of Dirty Rotten Cheater from Distraction Formats, for which it had roped in Basu’s Synergy to do the production.
