DDB Worldwide honoured at 50th intl Cannes ad festival

NEW YORK: DDB Worldwide was recognised by the international ad festival in Cannes as the agency that won the most Grand Prix awards in the 50 years of the festival.

From 1965 to 2000, DDB won seven film Grand Prix awards for Laura Scudder’s Potato Chips, Burlington Socks, United Cerebral Palsy, Volkswagen (honored in both 1970 and 1988), Diesel Jeans and Budweiser.

The Grand Prix of Grand Prix award, a 50th Lion, was presented to DDB Worldwide chairman Keith Reinhard. In addition to this special award, DDB agencies won a total of 16 Gold Silver and Bronze Lions in Press & Poster and Film. For the second year in a row, DDB agencies won more Film Lions than any other worldwide network. In total Press & Poster and Film awards, DDB claims to have ranked among the top three agencies at this year’s festival.
