Come ‘Face to Face’ with Medha Patkar on BBC World

BBC World has announced that activist Medha Patkar will be the final guest on Face to Face. The concluding episode airs on Wednesday at 10pm with a repeat on Sunday at 1pm. Host Karan Thapar queries Medha Patkar about the various social issues she deals with according to an official release.

She will talk about the tribal people in Gujarat and how their natural resources are getting depleted by urban consumerist society. She has been associated with the Narmada Bhachao Andolan project for seventeen years the release states.

She said, " Our agenda has always been beyond Narmada and Narmada is symbolic of the development paradigm. Its Narmada Bachao, Manav Bachao, and it's also Desh bachao in the present kind of valueless politics, criminal and communal politics."

She also talks about women empowerment and the setback Andolan received when a Supreme Court judgement a couple of years ago went against it.
