CNN elevates Kristie Lu Stout as ‘New Biz Today’s ‘ co-anchor
MUMBAI: CNN has appointed Kristie Lu Stout as the anchor / correspondent for CNN International Asia Pacific.
Stout has already started co-hosting the daily morning program News Biz Today , with Stan Grant from CNN International’s Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong, since Monday.
The segment is a three and hour hours continual mix of live breaking and headline news, business stories, sport, weather and analysis, says a company release.
Stout joined CNN International in Hong Kong in 2001 as technology correspondent and hosted the daily Tech Watch segment on News biz today. She covered a variety of news topics including Internet security threats, software piracy, cutting edge robotics, and next-generation wireless.
High points in her career also include her reports, during the SARS crisis, about the outbreak’s impact on international trade and travel. Stout has also interviewed newsmakers including the chief executives of Amazon, Cisco, Dell, eBay, and Samsung Electronics, adds the release.
Alumnus of Stanford University, where she compeleted bachelors and masters degree in Communication, Stout has also studied advanced Mandarin Chinese from Beijing’s Qinghua University.
She began her career in journalism in San Francisco at Wired magazine’s online division and later joined the South China Morning Post, where she founded and wrote the Beijing Byte column. She was also a founding team member of the Beijing-based Internet portal Sohu.com.

News18 India to air Sabse Bada Dangal on 4 May counting day
Channel promises fastest results, live trends and analysis across five states.
MUMBAI: Ballots will do the talking and screens will do the shouting. As counting day approaches for high-stakes Assembly elections across West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry, News18 India is gearing up for an all-day broadcast of its flagship election show, Sabse Bada Dangal, on 4 May from 6 am onwards. The Hindi news channel plans to deliver continuous, real-time updates as votes are tallied, combining live counting data with on-ground reporting and studio analysis. With political fortunes set to shift through the day, the coverage will track every swing, surge and surprise as trends turn into results.
