Canadian Idol goes instrumental on Thursday
MUMBAI: This is a first for the Idol music-based reality show anywhere. On Canada Idol , competitors tomorrow 19 August will accompany themselves on musical instruments
On CTV, the six remaining competitors will not only sing but also play guitar, piano, bass, mandolin and fiddle. CTV programming president Susanne Boyce added, “Canadian Idol is recognised as being one of the most innovative and successful Idol franchises in the world.
“We are blessed with a group of competitors who are not only outstanding singers, but talented musicians as
well. Thursday night’s show will add another fantastic dimension to the Canadian Idol phenomenon.”
There are 25 versions of Idol globally. As has been reported earlier by indiantelevision.com Indian Idol kicks off on Sony in October. The ground activities across 10 cities kicked off yesterday.

TLC launches ‘World On My Plate’ with Shipra Khanna
New travel-food series premieres 29 March at 7:00 PM.

Discovery India has announced the launch of World On My Plate with Shipra Khanna, a new travel and food series set to premiere on TLC on 29 March at 7:00 PM. Hosted and curated by the popular chef and television personality, the show blends food, travel and culture through an intimate and immersive lens.
Across three visually rich episodes, Shipra journeys to global destinations to explore not just what people eat, but why they eat it, uncovering the stories, traditions and human connections behind every dish. The series opens in London, weaving its iconic landmarks with diverse culinary scenes, before moving to Spain’s vineyards, olive orchards and coastal kitchens.

World On My Plate builds on this by using food as a lens to explore shared traditions across geographies.
