‘Beauty and the Beast’ premieres on Disney Channel soon
MUMBAI: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is all set to make its television debut in India on the Disney Channel on 23 April at 6 PM
This will also be the first time ever that audiences will see the film in Hindi. The movie made cinema history by becoming the first full-length animated film to receive an Academy Award nomination in the Best Picture category.
Beauty and the Beast is a warm story of a young and beautiful girl, Belle, whose life revolves around reading books and taking care of her kind, yet eccentric father, Maurice, who is an inventor.
Gaston, the village Romeo has set his sights on Belle and will do anything to conquer her heart even if it means resorting to wily means. One day, Maurice gets lost in the woods and stumbles upon an enchanted castle. To his horror, the owner of the castle turns out to be a prince cursed into living the life of a Beast. Angry at his trespassing, the Beast throws Maurice into a dungeon. Belle sets out to find him and strikes a bargain with the Beast – to become his prisoner in exchange for her elderly father’s freedom.
