MUMBAI: These days more and more Hindi films are remade from South Indian films, Singham being the most recent example.

It is now being said that Deva Katta‘s Telugu family thriller Prasantham, screened in the Indian Panorama section at International Film Festival of India at Goa, is being remade in Hindi.

Prasantham is all about greed, politics and greedy politicians. It treads a unique path than the regular political potboilers and is told in a more serious manner than any normal commercial films and layered with philosophical tone.

The Hindi version will reportedly be directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. The makers have signed in Ajay Devgn and Prakashraj to play the roles that Sharwanand and Sai Kumar played respectively in the original.
