Spider-Man: Brand New Day eyes Rs 500 crore on Day 11, overtakes Avatar at India box office

MUMBAI: Spider-Man is swinging into box-office history. Tom Holland-led Spider-Man: Brand New Day is on course to cross the Rs 500 crore mark in India on Day 11, potentially becoming the first Hollywood film to reach the milestone in the country.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe film recorded a sharp 106.7 per cent jump on its second Saturday, collecting Rs 31 crore across 13,482 shows in India, according to Sacnilk.

The strong Day 10 performance took the film’s India nett collection to Rs 380.75 crore, while its gross collection reached Rs 455.33 crore. That also pushed Brand New Day past Avengers: Endgame in India’s gross box-office rankings.

The 2019 Marvel blockbuster had recorded an India gross collection of Rs 445 crore and a nett collection of Rs 373.05 crore. Brand New Day has now crossed its gross mark, while also moving ahead of its nett total.

The English-language version led the film’s Day 10 collections with Rs 18 crore. The Hindi-dubbed version contributed Rs 10.50 crore, followed by Tamil at Rs 1.80 crore, Telugu at Rs 0.68 crore and Malayalam at Rs 0.02 crore.

The film’s India nett collections have remained strong despite a mid-week slowdown, with its second Saturday haul more than doubling from the previous day.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, Zendaya and Sadie Sink, has also attracted attention for taking Peter Parker’s story in a more grounded direction, with greater focus on emotional development and street-level action rather than the multiverse.

The film was released theatrically in India on July 30, 2026. With its second weekend showing a strong recovery, the latest numbers put the film within striking distance of the Rs 500 crore gross milestone.

If the momentum continues, Spider-Man could soon have another record to add to his web of box-office achievements.
