Rahman wins Critics’ Choice award for Slumdog
MUMBAI: AR Rahman has bagged the Best Music Composer award for Danny Boyle’s ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ at the 14th annual Critics‘ Choice awards in America.
The film that talks about the story of a young boy’s journey from rags to riches took away top five awards including best picture.
While Boyle took home the best director award, the film also earned the best writer prize for Simon Beaufoy.
Actor Dev Patel won the young actor/actress award.
While Sean Penn swept away the best actor for Milk, Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep won a combined best actress award for Rachel Getting Married and Doubt respectively.

Naila Grrewal slots in at seven on the back of the returning comedy series Maamla Legal Hai, while Rashmika Mandanna climbs to eighth, riding mounting anticipation for Cocktail 2.
The list, available exclusively on the IMDb app for Android and iOS, tracks trending Indian entertainers and filmmakers each week, drawing on data from more than 200m monthly visits to the platform worldwide.
Further down the rankings, Raaka is keeping two of its biggest names in the spotlight. Deepika Padukone holds 11th position, with Allu Arjun close behind at 13th, as the film continues to find traction with audiences.
