Kerala International fest announces lineup

MUMBAI: The 4th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala has announced the names of films that have been placed in the competition section. The films were selected out of 625 entries.

The films that have been selected in the ‘Long Documentary’ category are: A Pestering Journey; Between Border and Fence; Draupadi’s Descendents; Made in India; Miyar House; Mrigtrishna, Mullaitivu Saga; Ottayal /One Woman; Rozabal Shrine of Srinagar; The Open Frame; The Pyre/Meleri; and You Don’t Belong.

 In the ‘Short Documentary’ category, films like A Drop of Sunshine, After the Deluge, At the Stairs, Chidakashathile Vachana Sooryan/ O.V. Art of Debates, Kiran Joy of Giving, Koh-i-noor, Narayaniyethedi/ In Search of Narayani, Niyamgiri You are Still Alive, Platform No.5, Post Box No:418, Roots of Love, Tales from Napa, Talking Heads(Muslim Women), There is Something in the Air, Vertical City and Where the Gods Give Up Caste have been selected.

The ‘Short Fiction’ category has films like 19/87, A Page of Newspaper/ Akhbar Ka Ek Panna, Amen, Chal Chaliye, Close-Up, Courtroom Nautanki, Egg and Abhi, Falling Awake, Jagjeet, Kal, Kaveri, Let them be Unseen, Longing/ Odh, Open Doors/ Khule Darwaaze, Pole Star/ Dhuruva Natchathiram, Pranayathil Oruval Vazhthappedum Vidham, Red Blood/ Seng Kuruthi, Scream, Sin, Thattumporathappan/ Lord of Attic, The Eclipse of Taregna, The Elephant/ Airawat, The Ocean/ Samudra Ke Baare Mein, The Sun is not Setting, Thief, Tubelight Ka Chaand, Unstable/ Asthir and Verandah.

In the ‘Animation Films’ section, there are films like A Mail for Col. John Weits , It’s the Same Story/Baat Wahi Hai, Journey to Nagaland, Memories and Utsav.

The festival that is scheduled to be held between 31 July and 4 August, has been organised by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy for the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala.

MUMBAI: Bollywood’s popularity contest has a new weekly scorecard, and the numbers are telling. IMDb’s Popular Indian Celebrities list for this week places Shanaya Kapoor at number six, buoyed by buzz around her film Tu Yaa Main. Naila Grrewal slots in at seven on the back of the returning comedy series Maamla Legal Hai, while Rashmika Mandanna climbs to eighth, riding mounting anticipation for Cocktail 2.

The list, available exclusively on the IMDb app for Android and iOS, tracks trending Indian entertainers and filmmakers each week, drawing on data from more than 200m monthly visits to the platform worldwide.

Further down the rankings, Raaka is keeping two of its biggest names in the spotlight. Deepika Padukone holds 11th position, with Allu Arjun close behind at 13th, as the film continues to find traction with audiences.

The list offers fans a weekly pulse on who is breaking through, who is holding steady, and who is fading. It is a barometer as unsparing as the box office itself.
