MUMBAI: Indian project Match + : Love in the Time of HIV, a documentary by Ann S. Kim and Priya Giri Desai, is among 29 other feature-length documentary films selected to receive a total of $575,000 in Documentary Film Program (DFP) grants of the Sundance Institute for the Spring 2011 round.

Through the story of a matchmaker for HIV+ couples, the documentary discusses whether a HIV positive person can find love and companionship in India.

“The DFP received applications for grants from 650 filmmakers in 80 countries, and submissions were judged on their approach to storytelling, artistic treatment and innovation, subject relevance and potential for social engagement,” stated an official press release.

In addition to the fund, all the 29 filmmakers will be eligible for year-round creative support from Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program including Creative Labs, Work-in-Progress screenings, and documentary activity at the Sundance Creative Producing Summit and Sundance Film Festival.

The Sundance Institute Documentary Fund is a central part activity of Sundance Institute’s Documentary Film Program that provides creative support to non-fiction filmmakers globally.
