MUMBAI: From Kainchi to the world, Hanuman Ansh is taking its spiritual journey overseas. Hombale Films has picked up the international distribution of the Hindi devotional drama, which will release in overseas markets on September 11, 2026.

Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh is based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, popularly known as Maharaj-ji. Revered by his followers as an incarnation of Lord Hanuman, the spiritual figure was known for his teachings around love, devotion and service.

The film has already completed a successful theatrical run in India, with reported box-office collections rising from an opening of around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 63.82 crore by Day 26. Strong word-of-mouth and its sustained run have helped keep interest in the story alive.

Hombale Films announced that it will take the film to international audiences through its overseas distribution arm, positioning the release as an opportunity to introduce Maharaj-ji’s story to viewers beyond India.

The saint’s influence has long extended beyond the country. His spiritual legacy has been associated with international personalities including Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg and Julia Roberts, while Indian celebrities Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have also visited Kainchi Dham, the Uttarakhand site closely associated with Neem Karoli Baba.

Jobs travelled to India in 1974 in search of Maharaj-ji. Zuckerberg later visited Kainchi Dham after Jobs advised him to do so during a difficult period. Roberts has also spoken about Neem Karoli Baba’s influence on her spiritual journey.

That global connection gives Hanuman Ansh a natural overseas hook, particularly among audiences familiar with the saint’s influence and India’s growing interest in spiritual and devotional cinema.

For Hombale Films, the distribution deal also adds another international dimension to a production house that has built a reputation around large-scale Indian cinema. Its portfolio includes the KGF franchise, Kantara, the Salaar franchise and Mahavatar Narsimha.

The studio has expanded across languages and genres while continuing to back films rooted in Indian culture. With Mahavatar Narsimha, it also ventured strongly into animation, bringing a culturally rooted story to a wider cinematic audience.

Hombale Films has several projects in the pipeline, including Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, Mahavatar Parshuram, Suriya 48, Yeto Ka Naay and an upcoming collaboration with Hrithik Roshan.

With Hanuman Ansh, the production house is now taking a different kind of Indian story abroad. From the foothills of Kainchi Dham to theatres overseas, Maharaj-ji’s journey is set to cross another border on September 11.
