Gowariker working on sequel of Swades
MUMBAI: In his endeavour to make a sequel to his 2004-made film Swades, Ashutosh Gowariker approached Shah Rukh Khan with an idea to take the story forward.
Confirming the same, Gowariker said, “Yes, I am planning to make Swades 2 but it’s too early to talk about it.”
It is being said that Khan has liked the idea of the sequel and has asked the filmmaker to start working on it.
However, Swades 2 will have the protagonist Mohan Bhargava on a journey to set up basic amenities for another part of rural India. In short, the sequel will show the NRI trying his best for the upliftment of his fellow Indian citizens.

Gowariker is looking for the female lead for the sequel because Gayatri Joshi, who was pitted against Khan in the original, has quit the industry after marriage.

Further down the rankings, Raaka is keeping two of its biggest names in the spotlight. Deepika Padukone holds 11th position, with Allu Arjun close behind at 13th, as the film continues to find traction with audiences.
