Ghai’s Cycle Kick opens Narmad film fest
MUMBAI: Subhash Ghai’s Cycle Kick opens the upcoming Narmad International Film Festival on 16 June in Surat.
Inaugurated by director Ketan Mehta, the festival is being held at City Plus multiplex in Surat.
Three of Ghai‘s films – Black and White, Pardes and Kashmakash – will also be screened at the fest that will conclude on 19 June.
Said Surat Film Society president Ajoy Bhattacharya, “Special attention will be paid to Gujarati cinema for which we have formed a jury of three eminent people to give away first Narmad Cine Awards.”
The jury consists of Bhagwati Kumar Sharma, president Gujarati Sahitya Parishad, Krishnakant and veteran Bollywood actor Harish Raghuwanshi.

Averred City Plus director Ajit Jain, “We will screen six films per day. The schedule of the films have been worked out according to the length of each film.”
The curtains will fall on the festival with the presentation of The White Land.

Naila Grrewal slots in at seven on the back of the returning comedy series Maamla Legal Hai, while Rashmika Mandanna climbs to eighth, riding mounting anticipation for Cocktail 2.
The list, available exclusively on the IMDb app for Android and iOS, tracks trending Indian entertainers and filmmakers each week, drawing on data from more than 200m monthly visits to the platform worldwide.
Further down the rankings, Raaka is keeping two of its biggest names in the spotlight. Deepika Padukone holds 11th position, with Allu Arjun close behind at 13th, as the film continues to find traction with audiences.
The list offers fans a weekly pulse on who is breaking through, who is holding steady, and who is fading. It is a barometer as unsparing as the box office itself.
