Amazon MGM Studios sets September 18 release for Kunal Kemmu’s VIBE
Action-comedy marks Drongo Films debut and brings Preity Zinta back on screen
MUMBAI: Amazon MGM Studios has locked September 18 as the theatrical release date for VIBE, a high-energy action-comedy written and directed by Kunal Kemmu.
Produced by Kemmu alongside Chirag Nihalani under the banner of Drongo Films, the film also marks the production house’s first outing.
The movie stars Kemmu in a lead role alongside Preity G Zinta, who returns to the big screen after a long gap, as well as Sparsh Shrivastava and newcomer Vanshika Dhir.
According to the studio, VIBE follows two inseparable friends whose seemingly ordinary lives spiral into chaos after they stumble into a dangerous and unpredictable situation. What begins as a routine existence soon turns into a survival-driven rollercoaster packed with friendship, mayhem and high-stakes twists.
The film adds another title to Amazon MGM Studios’ growing India slate as streaming-backed studios increasingly push for theatrical releases alongside digital ambitions.
For Kemmu, VIBE marks a significant creative step, with the actor taking on writing, directing, producing and acting duties for the project. The film also puts the spotlight back on Preity Zinta, whose return is likely to spark a wave of nostalgia among Bollywood audiences.
With action, comedy and chaos all rolled into one package, VIBE appears ready to test whether friendship really can survive anything, especially when trouble arrives uninvited.
