Zepto promotes Sweta Mohanty to director of product management
Consumer app leader steps up after helping scale key journeys at quick commerce firm
BENGALURU: Sweta Mohanty has been promoted to director of product management at Zepto. She will continue to lead product innovation and improve customer experiences at the quick commerce platform, building on her experience across consulting, e-commerce, hospitality and technology.
Mohanty announced the move in a LinkedIn post, saying she was “excited to share” that she had started a new position as director of product management at the company. In her new role, she is expected to continue shaping product innovation and enhancing customer experiences across the platform.
The promotion follows a successful stint as group product manager, a position she held from October 2024 to March 2026. During that period, she led Zepto’s consumer app and worked on scaling several key customer journeys as the quick commerce platform expanded its reach and user base.
Before joining Zepto, Mohanty spent nearly two years at Boston Consulting Group as a consultant, where she worked on building and scaling consumer journeys for leading financial services players in India. Her experience there strengthened her expertise in product delivery, user experience and digital growth strategies.
Earlier, she held multiple product leadership roles at Purplle, where she oversaw the front-end product ecosystem, including merchandising, cataloguing, search, recommendations and customer-facing features. During her tenure, the beauty-focused marketplace continued to expand rapidly and attracted significant investor interest.
Mohanty’s professional journey also includes a product management role at OYO, where she led demand generation initiatives from online travel agents, a key revenue channel for the hospitality platform. Earlier in her career, she worked as an associate product manager at Tangoe, designing end-to-end journeys for enterprise technology products. She also completed a summer internship at Procter & Gamble and received a pre-placement offer.
An alumnus recognised on the Dean’s List at SPJIMR, Mohanty has built a career around creating and scaling digital products across sectors. Her elevation comes at a time when competition in India’s quick commerce market is intensifying, placing even greater emphasis on product innovation and seamless customer experiences.
With this promotion, Zepto is signalling confidence in an executive who has already helped shape some of its most important consumer-facing experiences. As the company races to stay ahead in the fast-moving quick commerce space, Mohanty will now play an even bigger role in steering its next phase of product growth.
