Zee Studios collaboration marks the company’s first foray into Gujarati cinema
MUMBAI: Zee Music Company is adding another note to its regional entertainment strategy, expanding its Gujarati footprint with Tom & Cherry, its first collaboration with Zee Studios in Gujarati cinema.
Presented by Zee Studios in association with Dhea Filmworks, the family entertainer released worldwide on August 28, marking a push to take Gujarati stories and music beyond their traditional home market.
The collaboration brings together Zee Music Company’s growing presence in Gujarati music and Zee Studios’ film production and distribution capabilities. The move reflects the wider appetite for regional stories rooted in language, culture and local sensibilities, while increasingly finding audiences beyond India.
Over the years, Zee Music Company has built its Gujarati catalogue through film soundtracks and regional artists, while developing an understanding of local listening patterns and audience preferences. With Tom & Cherry, the company is looking to bring its music and cinema businesses closer together under the Zee umbrella.

The film arrives during a period when regional-language entertainment is increasingly becoming a mainstream part of India’s wider content ecosystem.
