YES BANK extends IOA partnership for four global events in 2026
Lender to back Team India across Commonwealth, Asian and Youth Games
MUMBAI: Backing champions is not always about crossing the finish line, sometimes it’s about standing beside them before the race even begins. YES BANK has renewed its association with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), signing on as the Official Retail Banking Partner for Team India across four major international sporting events in 2026.
The partnership builds on the bank’s role as the official banking partner for the Indian contingent during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, extending its support for the country’s athletes as they prepare for another packed year of international competition.
Under the agreement, YES BANK will support Team India across more than 100 sporting events at four marquee multi-sport competitions:
- Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland
- Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan
- Youth Olympic Games 2026 in Dakar, Senegal
- Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
The partnership will cover athletes competing across disciplines including cricket, badminton, boxing, weightlifting, judo, archery and several other sports.
Announcing the collaboration, Vinay M. Tonse, Managing Director and CEO of YES BANK, said sport has the power to inspire communities while fostering values such as discipline, resilience and teamwork.
“We are proud to partner with the Indian Olympic Association in supporting Team India across four marquee international sporting events in 2026. As Team India competes on the global stage, carrying the hopes and aspirations of millions, we are honoured to stand beside our athletes as they strive to bring pride to our nation,” Tonse said.
The bank said the renewed partnership aligns with its broader strategy of supporting institutions and initiatives that contribute to India’s long-term development and national aspirations.
Welcoming the announcement, P.T. Usha, President of the Indian Olympic Association, described YES BANK as a long-standing supporter of Indian sport.
“We are delighted to welcome YES BANK as a long-standing partner of the Indian Olympic Association and its continued commitment to growth and development of sports in the country,” Usha said.
She added that such collaborations play an important role in strengthening India’s sporting ecosystem while helping athletes prepare for international competition.
Beyond sport, the partnership also carries a broader cultural dimension. YES BANK said its association with the Asian Games 2026 reflects its commitment to strengthening people-to-people ties between India and Japan through sporting engagement.
The bank will also support India’s participation in the Youth Olympic Games, which showcases athletes under 17 years of age, and the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games, featuring disciplines such as mixed martial arts, wushu and kickboxing.
With Indian athletes preparing for one of the busiest international sporting calendars in recent years, the renewed partnership underlines the growing role of corporate backing in strengthening the country’s Olympic ambitions, both on and off the field.
