MUMBAI: Looks like the algorithms have spoken and this time, they came with a promotion. WPP Media has elevated Kailash Jat to the role of director of programmatic, marking another senior leadership move in India’s rapidly evolving digital advertising landscape. Jat announced the development through a LinkedIn post, where he thanked Akshay Khanduri and Gaurav Bhattacharya for their guidance, support and trust throughout his journey at the company.

“I’m excited to share that I’ve been promoted to director of programmatic WPP Media,” Jat wrote, adding that he looks forward to the “next chapter”.

Before the elevation, Jat served as Associate Director, where he led multiple programmatic innovation initiatives, an increasingly critical area as advertisers shift more aggressively towards automated, data-led media buying strategies.

The move comes at a time when programmatic advertising continues to become central to media planning and digital marketing operations, with agencies investing heavily in AI-led targeting, automation and audience intelligence to improve campaign performance and efficiency.
