World Luxury Day 2026 to unite global luxury industry around four core values
October 8 celebration will spotlight craftsmanship, innovation and the people behind luxury
MUMBAI: Luxury is getting a date with itself. World Luxury Day 2026 will return on 8 October, bringing together the global luxury community to celebrate excellence, craftsmanship, innovation and sustainability, while opening a wider conversation about what luxury means today and where the industry is headed next.
Established by the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce (WLCC), World Luxury Day is designed as an annual platform for the international luxury industry to recognise its achievements and the people behind them, while encouraging brands, professionals and communities to share their perspectives on the future of the sector.
“Luxury is ultimately defined by the people who create it, deliver it and experience it. World Luxury Day gives the global luxury community an opportunity to put those perspectives into words and consider the values we want luxury to represent,” said World Luxury Chamber of Commerce president Alexander Chetchikov.
A key focus of the 2026 edition will be the inaugural World Luxury Day Manifesto, which is scheduled to be presented by the end of October.
The initiative is built around a deceptively simple question: What does luxury mean to you?
Luxury leaders, entrepreneurs, creators and professionals across markets and sectors are being invited to share their perspectives publicly using #WorldLuxuryDay and encourage others within the community to join the conversation. Contributions are open until 8 October.
Selected responses will feed into the Manifesto, bringing together perspectives from different parts of the global luxury ecosystem. The initiative aims to capture how luxury is understood today and the values that industry participants believe should shape its future.
The campaign also extends World Luxury Day beyond a single celebration. Brands, media organisations, industry bodies and professionals are being encouraged to create their own conversations, experiences and activations in the run-up to 8 October.
World Luxury Day will also mark the beginning of the Month of Luxury, a month-long celebration running throughout October.
During the month, brands, creators and communities around the world can participate through events, experiences and special initiatives focused on the people, ideas and craftsmanship that define the luxury sector.
At the heart of the initiative are four values: excellence, craftsmanship, innovation and sustainability.
The focus is also firmly on the people behind the products and experiences associated with luxury. That includes artisans preserving generations of savoir-faire, innovators developing new ideas, entrepreneurs building businesses and professionals responsible for delivering high-end experiences.
The broader format reflects an industry that increasingly spans traditional luxury categories as well as technology, design, experiences, creative industries and new business models.
The World Luxury Chamber of Commerce describes itself as a global organisation connecting leaders, entrepreneurs and decision-makers across the luxury industry.
Through its international network, partnerships, industry initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities, WLCC provides a platform for dialogue and collaboration across the luxury community.
World Luxury Day forms part of that wider effort, giving participants a common date and platform to discuss both the achievements of the industry and the changing expectations surrounding luxury.
With the 2026 edition expanding into a manifesto and month-long programme, the initiative is positioning 8 October as more than a calendar date. The aim is to create an ongoing global conversation about the people, values and ideas shaping luxury’s next chapter.
