MUMBAI: Travelling light may be a dream, but travelling smart is the new status symbol. VIP Industries has launched a new brand campaign, Travel VIP, alongside three luggage collections designed for the needs of today’s increasingly mobile and experience-driven traveller. Conceptualised by McCann India, the campaign signals a fresh chapter for one of India’s most recognisable travel brands as it looks to blend functionality, design and everyday convenience in a highly competitive luggage market.

At the heart of the campaign are three product-focused films, each spotlighting a distinct collection: VIP Classic, VIP Flex and VIP Pod. Rather than focusing solely on destinations, the films shift attention to the travel experience itself, showcasing how product design can make journeys smoother, smarter and more comfortable.

The move comes as Indian travellers increasingly seek luggage that goes beyond storage and addresses real-world travel challenges. Each collection has been built around a specific use case.

VIP Classic targets travellers looking for timeless appeal, combining clean aesthetics with a refined colour palette of ivory, chocolate brown and grey. An integrated expander offers additional packing space for those inevitable last-minute additions.

VIP Flex focuses on accessibility. Its standout feature, the Flexi Flap, allows travellers to quickly reach essentials without opening the entire suitcase. The collection also features a 90:10 book-opening design that maximises capacity while making packing and unpacking easier in tight spaces.

VIP Pod, meanwhile, is designed for frequent travellers navigating airports and transit hubs. It comes equipped with a built-in cup holder, an integrated mobile holder and a suspension wheel system engineered to glide smoothly across uneven surfaces.

The campaign debuted across regional television, Connected TV platforms and outdoor media in key markets, supported by travel-focused creators producing product-led content around the new range.

The launch also reflects a broader premiumisation strategy for VIP, which is looking to reposition itself for a new generation of travellers who value convenience as much as durability. The company describes the initiative as “VIP 2.0”, signalling a stronger emphasis on design-led innovation and practical travel solutions.

Available across leading retail outlets and online channels, the new collections are priced from Rs 6,950 onwards.

After helping define India’s luggage category for decades, VIP is now betting that the next big travel upgrade won’t be the destination itself, but the bag that gets you there.
