Vineet Jain named COO of Reliance Retail’s fashion and lifestyle business
Jain joins Reliance Retail after nearly six years as COO of V-Mart Retail
MUMBAI: Reliance Retail has strengthened its fashion and lifestyle leadership team with the appointment of Vineet Jain as chief operating officer of its fashion and lifestyle business.
Jain took up the role in July 2026, moving to Reliance Retail after nearly six years at V-Mart Retail, where he served as COO from November 2020.
His appointment adds a veteran retail executive to Reliance Retail’s fashion and lifestyle operations as the company continues to expand its presence across India’s highly competitive apparel and lifestyle market.
Jain brings more than two decades of experience across organised retail. Before joining V-Mart, he spent over 17 years with Future Group, where he served as CEO of its North India business from May 2003 to October 2020.
At V-Mart, Jain’s responsibilities as COO included overseeing operations for the value-fashion retailer. His move to Reliance Retail marks a significant step up in scale, with the new role placing him within one of India’s largest retail businesses.
Jain is a chartered accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Calcutta University.
His appointment comes as Reliance Retail continues to build out its fashion and lifestyle portfolio, spanning multiple brands, formats and consumer segments. The addition of an executive with experience across both large-format retail and value fashion could further strengthen the company’s operational focus as competition intensifies.
For Jain, the move marks a return to a large, diversified retail platform, this time with a mandate covering one of Reliance Retail’s key consumer-facing businesses.
