VGC ropes in Saumya Chattopadhyay as planning director

MUMBAI: Vyas Giannetti Creative (VGC) has announced the senior level appointment of Saumya Chattopadhyay as planning director.

In his capacity, Chattopadhyay will be responsible for driving the strategic planning function and will handle key clients in Mumbai and Delhi therefore taking on a National role, says VGC COO Atul Hegde.
He will be heading the separate planning division at the organization and will report to Hegde. “His role would involve leading non-conventional planning through lateral thinking.”

Chattopadhyay joins VGC from Southseas Film TV School & Productions, Auckland, New Zealand where he was their International marketing manager for Asia.

He graduated from the IAA (International Advertising Association) school of advertising at Watford School of business UK and has been a part of the Indian advertising scene with stints in account planning at EuroRSCG, Mumbai and O&M Mumbai. He had also worked in Saatchi’s, London for a brief period.

Saumya has worked on diverse categories and has handled brands like Sandoz, Voltas, Sony Television, HDFC Bank. Unilever Lakme, Ponds, Aviance, Kissan to name a few, informs an official release.

Hegde added, ” Its great to have Saumya on board at a time when there is so much activity & growth happening at VGC, we have always regarded strategic planning as a key ingredient in creating successful communication programs. I’m sure he will build a robust planning team which will continue to add value to all our clients.”

The announcement was made at the Time100 Gala in New York by Jessica Sibley and Nita Mukesh Ambani, signalling a strategic push to tap into India’s growing influence across sectors.

The India edition will recognise 100 emerging leaders from the country and the global Indian diaspora, spanning business, science, sports, arts and social impact. The list will be curated by Time’s editorial team and published online, continuing the franchise’s focus on identifying individuals shaping the future.

The initiative will culminate in a gala event scheduled for December 2026 at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, anchoring the platform within India’s cultural and business ecosystem.

TIME’s broader Time100 franchise has steadily expanded its global footprint since 2021 through events and impact-led initiatives. Executives noted that India’s growing pool of influential voices and innovators made it a natural next step for the platform’s international ambitions.

For Reliance, the partnership aligns with its broader push to support emerging talent and ideas on a global stage. For Time, it marks a timely bet on India not just as a market, but as a talent engine shaping the next chapter of global leadership.
