Vasudha Sharma steps up at JioHotstar, takes manager’s chair after two-and-a-half-year climb
Promotion caps run of mentorship, marketing wins and a small army of well-wishers
MUMBAI: Vasudha Sharma has been promoted to manager at JioHotstar, capping a two-and-a-half-year stint at the streaming giant that began as assistant manager in January 2024. The move, effective May 2026, plants her firmly in the brand-marketing trenches, with a brief to sharpen campaigns and chase impact rather than just polish.
Sharma was unambiguous about who gets the credit. Leaders Preeti Shenoy and Sahil Chopra get top billing for pushing her, prodding her and handing her responsibilities heavier than her job title strictly demanded. A clutch of colleagues — Shatiksha Sinha, Pratik Dutta, Yashvi Thakkar, Iona Dsouza and Hormuz Bana — round out the cast of office allies who, by her account, kept the wheels turning on the harder days.
The new gig is no debutant posting. Before JioHotstar, Sharma cut her teeth as a brand-solutions account lead at Schbang, ran marketing at cure.fit, and managed communications at Estero New Zealand. Earlier still, in Bath, England, she built a 360-degree marketing plan for Regency Offices that lifted social visibility by a stiff 80 per cent month-on-month — proof, if any were needed, that the spreadsheets and the social feeds both answered to her.
Shenoy stays on as her leader, now joined by minakshi achan, as Sharma turns to the next round of brand-building at one of India’s biggest entertainment platforms. The ladder, evidently, isn’t done with her yet — and neither is she with it.
