MUMBAI: Vanilla is no longer just for desserts it’s becoming the latest wardrobe essential. As consumers increasingly swap a one-perfume routine for a fragrance collection tailored to different moods and occasions, Vanesa is betting that a modern take on gourmand scents will strike the right note.

The fragrance brand has expanded its portfolio with Fleur De Vanilla Eau De Parfum, part of its new French Collection, as it looks to tap into the growing popularity of warm, comforting fragrances that blend familiarity with contemporary sophistication.

Rather than leaning into the traditionally sweet profile of vanilla, the new perfume pairs the note with florals, creamy accords and soft woody undertones. The fragrance opens with bergamot, jasmine and nutmeg, moves into a heart of coconut milk and musk, and settles into a base of vanilla, cedarwood and musk, creating what the company describes as a Floral Creamy Gourmand scent.

The launch reflects a wider shift in the beauty industry, where consumers are increasingly building “fragrance wardrobes”, choosing different perfumes to match changing moods, seasons and occasions instead of relying on a single signature scent.

Vanesa says the Eau De Parfum contains 15 to 20 per cent fragrance oil, a concentration aimed at delivering longer-lasting performance than lighter fragrance formats. The formula is also IFRA compliant, made using French fragrance ingredients by international perfumers, while being cruelty-free, paraben-free and skin-friendly.

Priced at Rs 1,099, Fleur De Vanilla will be available through leading retail outlets and online platforms across India.

Promoted by actor Kiara Advani, Vanesa has been steadily expanding beyond deodorants into premium fragrances as India’s personal care market evolves. The latest launch underscores how homegrown brands are increasingly chasing global fragrance trends while adapting them for everyday use and a broader consumer base.

With gourmand fragrances continuing to gain popularity worldwide, Vanesa’s newest offering suggests that the next fashion statement may not be seen first, but smelled.
