Urban Company & Unicommerce expand e-commerce partnership to UAE and Saudi Arabia
Uniware will power inventory and fulfilment as Urban Company scales in the Middle East
NEW DELHI: Urban Company is taking its e-commerce playbook overseas. The home services company has expanded its partnership with Unicommerce to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia as it scales its operations across the Middle East.
Urban Company’s Middle East business will use Unicommerce’s Uniware platform to manage inventory and fulfilment operations supporting its at-home services ecosystem.
The platform will provide real-time visibility of inventory and help route orders for service kits and consumables to service professionals across the two markets. The aim is to improve stock accuracy, speed up replenishment and coordinate fulfilment across locations.
The partnership builds on the companies’ existing relationship in India, where Urban Company uses Unicommerce’s technology for its e-commerce operations. Extending the arrangement to the Middle East will give the company a common operational backbone as it expands across the region.
Urban Company’s services, spanning beauty and wellness, home cleaning and appliance maintenance, rely on a steady supply of products, tools and consumables. Uniware will serve as the central platform for managing this supply chain.
Unicommerce has been expanding its presence in the Middle East through integrations with regional marketplaces, logistics providers, enterprise resource planning systems and payment platforms.
Its regional capabilities include Arabic-compatible invoice and shipping-label generation, region-specific tax compliance and integrations with local commerce partners across Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Unicommerce managing director and CEO Kapil Makhija said the expanded partnership would help Urban Company scale its operations while simplifying backend processes.
Urban Company senior vice-president, Middle East, Nitesh Agarwal said the region is an important growth market for the company and that operational efficiency would be key to maintaining a reliable customer experience.
The expansion adds another international leg to Unicommerce’s operations. The company serves more than 8,000 clients across India, Southeast Asia and the Middle East and has more than 360 technology and partner integrations across its platforms.
Its product suite includes Uniware for order, warehouse and inventory management, Convertway for marketing automation and Shipway for logistics management and shipping automation.
For Urban Company, the Middle East expansion is as much about getting the service to customers as it is about getting the right kit to professionals on time. As its regional footprint grows, the new technology partnership is expected to keep that operational engine running smoothly.
