MUMBAI: In this family, the roots of competition run surprisingly deep. Ugaoo has brought Jackie Shroff and son Tiger Shroff together for a new campaign that turns the veteran actor’s well-known love for plants into a playful father-son tale.

The campaign film imagines Tiger’s childhood as an unlikely contest for his father’s attention with Jackie’s plants apparently proving to be formidable rivals. His trademark backflips, bodybuilding and remarkable flexibility are humorously presented as the result of years spent trying to outdo the greenery at home.

Rather than treating plant care as a chore, the campaign uses the exaggerated family dynamic to position plant parenting as something that can be easier and more enjoyable. Ugaoo’s range of plants and gardening products forms the brand backdrop to the story.

The film has been conceptualised and produced by Kulfi Collective, with White Rivers Media as its digital media partner.

Siddhant Bhalinge, founder and CEO of Ugaoo, said the campaign builds on Jackie Shroff’s genuine interest in plants while bringing Tiger into the story to offer a different perspective on plant parenting.

For Jackie Shroff, the collaboration reflects an association that has lasted over a year, allowing him to speak about something he has a personal interest in while encouraging more people to discover plant parenting.

Kulfi Collective director, CEO and co-founder Akshat Gupt said the creative idea came from taking two recognisable parts of the Shroff family Jackie’s love for plants and Tiger’s physical prowess and connecting them through an intentionally absurd childhood rivalry.

The campaign also leans into the father-son relationship by having both actors play exaggerated versions of themselves, allowing the humour to drive the narrative while keeping the focus on Ugaoo’s proposition of making plant care less demanding.

With Tiger apparently having spent his formative years battling for attention against potted rivals, Ugaoo’s latest campaign gives plant parenting a new family story with a little more flex and a lot more foliage.
