MUMBAI: TVS Motor has put its sales engine into a higher gear, with both domestic and international markets picking up pace. TVS Motor Company (TVSM), part of TVS VENU, recorded quarterly sales of 1.9 million units in Q2 FY27, with two-wheelers, three-wheelers and overseas business all posting year-on-year growth.

Two-wheeler sales rose 27 per cent to 1.8 million units during the quarter, compared with 1.5 million units in Q2 FY26. Three-wheeler sales grew even faster, climbing 47 per cent to 78,475 units from 53,449 units in the year-ago quarter.

The company’s international business also remained firmly in the fast lane. Total international sales increased 35 per cent to 0.5 million units in Q2 FY27, compared with 0.4 million units in Q2 FY26, adding another layer to the company’s quarterly growth.

September provided an additional boost, with TVS Motor recording sales of 672,790 units, up 24 per cent from 541,064 units in September 2025. The monthly performance reflected broad-based growth across two-wheelers, electric vehicles, three-wheelers and international markets.

Two-wheelers continued to account for the bulk of the company’s September volumes. Total two-wheeler sales increased 23 per cent to 645,955 units from 523,923 units a year earlier.

Domestic two-wheeler sales also moved higher, although at a more measured pace than the overall category. Sales in India rose 17 per cent to 482,073 units in September 2026, compared with 413,279 units in September 2025.

Electric two-wheelers provided one of the sharpest jumps in the monthly numbers. TVS Motor sold 65,799 electric two-wheelers in September, more than doubling from 31,266 units a year earlier, representing a 110 per cent increase.

The electric vehicle performance comes as EVs become an increasingly visible part of the company’s overall two-wheeler business. The September numbers show that growth in the electric portfolio is running considerably faster than the company’s overall two-wheeler sales growth.

International markets were another major contributor during the month. TVS Motor’s total international business sales rose 48 per cent to 180,700 units from 122,108 units in September 2025.

Two-wheelers accounted for most of that international business. Overseas two-wheeler sales climbed 48 per cent to 163,882 units, compared with 110,644 units in the same month last year.

Three-wheelers also recorded a strong September performance. Sales increased 57 per cent to 26,835 units from 17,141 units in September 2025, extending the segment’s 47 per cent growth recorded for the second quarter.

The September figures therefore paint a picture of growth across several lanes rather than one category carrying the entire load. Domestic two-wheelers rose 17 per cent, electric two-wheelers jumped 110 per cent, international business increased 48 per cent and three-wheelers climbed 57 per cent.

At the quarterly level, the pattern remains similarly broad-based. TVS Motor’s two-wheeler sales grew 27 per cent to 1.8 million units, three-wheelers increased 47 per cent to 78,475 units and international business rose 35 per cent to 0.5 million units.

The contrast between the overall two-wheeler growth and EV growth is particularly notable. While total two-wheeler sales increased 23 per cent in September, electric two-wheeler sales more than doubled, suggesting a significantly faster pace of expansion for the company’s EV volumes.

September’s international numbers also strengthened the company’s overseas contribution. Total international sales reached 180,700 units, with 163,882 of those coming from two-wheelers and the remainder including the company’s other international business.

With Q2 FY27 now behind it, TVS Motor’s numbers show momentum across its conventional two-wheeler business, electric portfolio, three-wheelers and international operations. The September performance, meanwhile, provides a strong finish to the quarter, with total monthly sales crossing 6.72 lakh units and EV sales recording triple-digit growth.
