TVS Motor appoints Peyman Kargar as CEO from January 2027

Bengaluru: TVS Motor Company has appointed Peyman Kargar as director and chief executive officer, with the leadership change set to take effect on January 27, 2027.

Kargar, currently president, international business at TVS Motor, will succeed K. N. Radhakrishnan, who will continue as director and CEO until January 27 to ensure a smooth transition. Radhakrishnan will subsequently serve as non-executive director until the company’s ensuing annual general meeting in July 2027.

The leadership transition comes as TVS Motor builds on a strong period of growth in India and overseas. In FY2025-26, the company sold a record 5.9 million vehicles globally and reported 30 per cent revenue growth.

Kargar brings more than three decades of automotive leadership experience across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. His experience covers product development, research and development, manufacturing, quality, sales and marketing.

Since taking charge of TVS Motor’s international business, Kargar has helped make the division a growing contributor to the company’s global expansion. International business now accounts for 29 per cent of TVS Motor’s sales volume and is growing at 33 per cent, according to the company.

In his new role, Kargar will focus on expanding TVS Motor’s presence in India and international markets, with product innovation, premiumisation and entry into developed markets forming key parts of the growth strategy.

TVS Motor chairman Sudarshan Venu said the appointment was an important step as the company prepares for its next phase.

“Peyman is an accomplished global leader with deep industry experience, strategic vision and a strong understanding of customers and markets,” said TVS Motor chairman Sudarshan Venu. “As president, international business, he has already made a meaningful contribution to our business, and I am confident he is the right person to lead TVS Motor Company.”

Venu also credited Radhakrishnan with playing a pivotal role in the company’s growth and thanked him for his leadership and contribution to TVS Motor and the wider TVS VENU group.

Kargar said the appointment marked an opportunity to build on the company’s momentum while expanding its presence across India and global markets.

“I will be focused on realising the company’s vision and strengthening our technology leadership, AI capabilities, commitment to quality, and customer centricity,” said Peyman Kargar.

Radhakrishnan, meanwhile, said he was confident Kargar would lead the company successfully and that he would support the transition over the coming months.

The change places a global automotive executive at the helm as TVS Motor looks to turn its recent international momentum into its next leg of growth, while maintaining continuity through Radhakrishnan’s continued presence on the board.
