Toblerone and Swarovski unveil crystal bar for global charity auction
Handmade collectible to tour nine airports as month-long campaign supports local charities
MUMBAI: Some gifts melt hearts. This one is cut from crystal. Toblerone has partnered with Swarovski to launch a limited-edition Toblerone Crystal Bar, transforming its iconic triangular chocolate into a handcrafted crystal collectible that will headline a global charity auction across nine major airports.
The initiative, titled The Ultimate Gift, brings together the Swiss chocolate brand and the Austrian crystal house in a campaign that blends luxury, travel retail and philanthropy. Running from 1 July to 31 July 2026, the month-long auction will take place at airports in Athens, Delhi, Doha, Dubai, Frankfurt, Madrid, New York JFK, Singapore and Zurich.
Travellers visiting these airports can bid in person for one of the individually numbered crystal bars, while online bidding has also been opened globally. One hundred per cent of the winning bids will be donated to each airport’s designated local charity partner.
Inspired by the original Toblerone bar first introduced in 1908, the crystal edition has been recreated using Swarovski’s signature craftsmanship. Each piece weighs 851g, measures 305mm in length, features 546 precision-cut facets, required 140 hours of development and 65 hours of production, and is entirely handmade in Austria.
Alongside the charity auction, Toblerone is also launching a limited-edition Ultimate Gift Box, decorated with Swarovski crystals and containing a Milk Toblerone bar. The collector’s edition will be available exclusively through World Travel Retail outlets at participating airports during the campaign.
The collaboration reflects a growing trend of premium consumer brands creating experiential retail campaigns that go beyond product launches. By combining travel retail with collectible design and charitable giving, Toblerone is turning one of the world’s most recognisable airport purchases into a global fundraising initiative.
For generations, Toblerone has been synonymous with duty-free shopping and travel souvenirs. With its crystal reinterpretation, the brand is betting that its most iconic shape can become more than a chocolate bar serving as a luxury keepsake while raising funds for community causes around the world.
