MUMBAI: A change of tune in the finance room. Tips Films Limited is set to get a new chief financial officer, with Haresh Sedhani stepping down from the role for personal reasons and Saurabh Rathi taking over the financial reins from September 23.
Sedhani submitted his resignation on August 14 and will cease to be the company’s CFO and key managerial personnel at the close of business on September 22, 2026.
In his resignation letter addressed to chairman and managing director Kumar S. Taurani and Ramesh Taurani, Sedhani thanked the board for its guidance, support and trust during his tenure. He also wished the company and its management continued success.
The board formally took the resignation on record at its meeting on August 14. The meeting began at 11:45 am and concluded at 12:50 pm.
The board has approved the appointment of Saurabh Rathi as CFO and KMP with effect from September 23, 2026.
Rathi is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has more than 14 years of experience across finance, accounts, taxation, financial planning and business finance in the media and entertainment industry.
His experience spans film production, movie distribution, television broadcasting, movie and music licensing, international film royalties, artist management, brand partnerships and in-film brand integrations.
Rathi has held finance roles at The Walt Disney Company, UTV, Star India, Fox Corporation Group and Yash Raj Films.
His background includes financial governance, regulatory compliance, taxation, statutory reporting, process optimisation and strategic financial planning across different parts of the media value chain.
The CFO transition comes alongside Tips Films’ approval of its unaudited standalone financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
The company reported revenue from operations of Rs 48.24 crore for the quarter, compared with Rs 95.59 crore in Q1 FY26. Total expenses stood at Rs 77.65 crore, with film production costs accounting for Rs 74.24 crore.
The production-heavy quarter resulted in a net loss of Rs 29.41 crore, compared with a net loss of Rs 15.85 crore for the full financial year ended March 2026.
The board also approved the accompanying limited review report.
With Rathi set to take charge as Tips Films navigates a production-led business cycle, the company is bringing in a finance chief with deep experience across the entertainment ecosystem. The leadership change now puts a new set of financial hands on deck as the company looks to convert its production investments into stronger returns.
