The Blondie House opens in Versova, bringing Blondie and Janu under one roof
New multi-level destination combines an all-day café, Matcha Omakase and community space
MUMBAI: Coffee, matcha, Indian-inspired plates and a space to simply linger have found a new address in Versova with the opening of The Blondie House, bringing Blondie and Janu together under one roof.
Opened on 21 September on Harmehar Road, the multi-level destination combines an all-day café and bakery, a dedicated Matcha Omakase experience and a community space designed for working, reading, meeting and socialising.
The House brings together favourites from Blondie and Janu alongside dishes created exclusively for the new space. Breakfast options include Eggs Japo Style with Miso Butter and the OG Blondie Avo Toast, while smaller plates include Pretzel with Miso Honey Butter and Yaki Udon.
Janu’s Indian-inspired offerings include Pani Puri and Raj Kachori, while the Truffle Cheese Dosa combines benne dosa with parmesan, cheddar, mozzarella and white truffle oil. A Froyo cart adds another stop for dessert lovers.
The bakery and dessert counter features the Pecan Miso Croissant Crown, Matcha Strawberry Tiffin, Sesame Tart and Pineapple and Pandan Religieuse, alongside freshly baked viennoiserie and Blondie’s cookies. The House cart will also rotate seasonal bakes and weekend specials, with homemade Greek yogurt, froyo and gelato.
Drinks remain central to the experience, with signatures such as Mont Blanc, Yuzu Daydream and Blondie’s Sakura alongside speciality coffee, matchas, filter coffee, milkshakes and mocktails.
The dedicated Matcha Omakase builds on Blondie’s earlier Matcha and Madeleines format, turning it into a permanent experience focused on the preparation, texture, pairings and ritual around matcha.
Beyond food and drinks, the House includes a shared table, growing library, photobooth and in-house merchandise. It will also host readings, workshops, tastings, book-club activities and intimate gatherings.
The interiors draw from Japanese hospitality and Scandinavian design, combining concrete, handmade ceramics, natural materials and greenery. The design takes inspiration from architect Tadao Ando’s approach to space and materiality, with concrete, wood and marble creating a calm, tactile setting.
Blondie’s visual identity comes through in details such as a custom-made La Marzocco Strada coffee machine in the brand’s signature peach, complete with the Blondie logo.
The House also puts emphasis on independent makers and women-led businesses. Its handmade ceramics come from a woman founder and potter, while its house coffees have been developed with women farmers. The retail section includes matcha, granola and house coffees, while the library features Korean and Japanese authors.
Bastian Hospitality founder Ranjit Bindra said, “The Blondie House is an evolution of how we think about hospitality, creating spaces that are not defined by a single meal or occasion, but become part of people’s everyday lives.”
Blondie brand director Natasha Hemani said the House was designed to extend the brand beyond food and drinks, giving visitors a place to work, read, meet or simply spend time.
With its mix of café culture, Indian-inspired food, matcha and community programming, The Blondie House is positioned as a neighbourhood destination that stretches from morning coffee and breakfast to evening gatherings.
