GURUGRAM: Tenon Group, the technology-enabled security and facilities services conglomerate, has appointed Sanjay Baweja as executive director on its board, bringing in one of India’s most seasoned corporate operators to steer its next phase of expansion.

Baweja arrives with 35 years of hard-won experience across telecom, e-commerce, technology, renewable energy and real estate. A fellow chartered accountant and cost accountant, he has held some of the most demanding finance and strategy roles in Indian business: group chief financial officer at Flipkart, global CFO at Tata Communications, CFO at Suzlon Energy, and managing director and global chief executive of OnMobile Global, where he ran the company’s worldwide strategy and transformation agenda. He has also served in senior roles at Bharti Airtel, Bhartiya Group and Emaar MGF.

In his new role, Baweja will focus on strengthening Tenon’s strategic direction, governance framework and long-term value creation as the group pushes deeper into technology-led security services, facility management, remote monitoring and software-driven business solutions across global markets.

Manjit Rajain, global chairman of Tenon Group, said Baweja’s track record across listed companies and global enterprises gave him a rare perspective on building and scaling businesses in fast-moving industries. “His deep understanding of growth strategy, business transformation, capital allocation and corporate governance will be invaluable,” Rajain said.

Baweja called Tenon a trusted partner with a scalable platform and said he looked forward to helping the group unlock new opportunities across its businesses.

The numbers behind that ambition are not small. Tenon serves more than 3,100 clients globally, manages over 570 million square feet of facilities and employs a workforce of over 105,000 professionals across India, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Germany.

With a boardroom heavyweight now in place, Tenon is signalling that its global ambitions are just getting started.
