MUMBAI: The summer may have cooled, but Symphony’s numbers kept their cool. The air cooler maker delivered a steady start to FY27, reporting higher revenue and improved profitability in the June quarter as its core cooling appliances business continued to drive growth despite a seasonal slowdown.

Symphony reported revenue from operations of Rs 378 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up from Rs 350 crore in the corresponding period last year. Including other income of Rs 13 crore, total income stood at Rs 391 crore, compared with Rs 372 crore a year ago.

The company posted a net profit of Rs 40 crore, broadly in line with the Rs 42 crore reported in the year-ago quarter. Total comprehensive income came in at Rs 42 crore, compared with Rs 56 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Profit before tax stood at Rs 50 crore, compared with Rs 51 crore a year earlier, reflecting resilient operating performance despite rising costs and continued investments in brand building.

Among expenses, advertising and sales promotion nearly doubled to Rs 42 crore, up from Rs 19 crore in the previous year’s quarter, signalling the company’s increased focus on strengthening consumer visibility. Employee benefit expenses remained stable at Rs 34 crore, while finance costs rose marginally to Rs 3 crore.

The company’s flagship Air Cooling and Other Appliances business generated segment revenue of Rs 383 crore, accounting for almost the entire business, while its Corporate Funds segment contributed Rs 8 crore.

Segment profit before interest and tax from the cooling appliances business stood at Rs 45 crore, compared with Rs 38 crore a year earlier, highlighting continued strength in the core business despite fluctuating seasonal demand.

At the end of the quarter, Symphony reported total assets of Rs 940 crore, while capital employed stood at Rs 587 crore, reflecting a healthy balance sheet supported by its domestic and international operations.

The Ahmedabad-based company continues to operate through a global network spanning Mexico, China, Australia, Brazil and the United States, reinforcing its position as one of the world’s largest air cooler manufacturers.

While the summer season may dictate short-term demand, Symphony’s latest results suggest the company is increasingly relying on stronger branding, international operations and product diversification to smooth seasonal fluctuations.

For Symphony, the June quarter was less about beating the heat and more about proving that even when temperatures settle, steady business performance can still keep the numbers comfortably warm.
