Suhaas Sonpar named head of commercials and revenue at Ai+ Smartphone
Sonpar takes on expanded mandate after leading partnerships and alliances at Ai+
NOIDA: Ai+ Smartphone is giving its commercial engine a new charge, with Suhaas Sonpar taking on the role of head of commercials and revenue. Sonpar announced the move on LinkedIn, saying he has started the new position at the smartphone company. He will be based in Noida and will take charge of the commercials and revenue function as Ai+ continues to build its presence in India’s smartphone market.
The appointment expands Sonpar’s responsibilities at Ai+. He joined the company in April 2026 as head of partnerships and alliances, where he was responsible for leading the partnerships, alliances and business development function.
His move into the commercials and revenue role comes after several years across fintech, consumer finance and business development, giving him experience spanning sales, partnerships, organised retail and financial products.
Before joining Ai+, Sonpar spent around two years at Pine Labs as senior director. From March 2024 to March 2026, he served as business head for sales finance in the non-CDIT pay-later business.
Prior to Pine Labs, Sonpar was senior vice president of business development at ShopSe between August 2022 and February 2024. In that role, he spearheaded growth in organised retail.
He also spent more than four years with Kotak Mahindra Bank, serving as vice president from January 2018 to August 2022. His responsibilities there were centred on the consumer finance business.
Earlier, Sonpar worked with Home Credit India as assistant vice president for strategic alliances from March 2015 to January 2018.
His career began with a focus on alliances and business development before moving into larger commercial and sales responsibilities across financial services and retail-led businesses. The latest appointment at Ai+ brings those strands together in a role focused directly on commercials and revenue.
Sonpar holds an MBA from Mumbai Education Trust-Institute Of Management, which he completed between 2001 and 2003.
The expanded mandate comes as Ai+ Smartphone looks to strengthen its commercial operations, with Sonpar now tasked with taking its partnerships, business development and market experience into a broader revenue-focused leadership role.
