Star Gold celebrates Shah Rukh birthday in ‘Jabardast Janmadin’

MUMBAI: After Big B, Star Gold has now Shahrukh Khan as the birthday boy. As the actor turns 40 on 2 November, Star’s Hindi movie channel will premiere two documentaries made on Shah Rukh Khan, titled The Inner World and The Outer World of SRK.
 
 

The documentaries will air in the Jabardast Janamdin slot on 1 November and 2 November at 12 noon.

Directed by British Indian filmmaker and writer Nasreen Munni Kabir The Inner World of SRK takes an emotional look at Shah Rukh Khan’s life. Now turned 40, Khan for the first time opens up to the world and allows the camera to take a close look at his family life. Shot in Mumbai and Delhi, the documentary sees him talking about his health problems, meeting his teachers and visiting his parents’ graves.
 
 

The Outer World of SRK looks at the worldwide phenomenon of Shah Rukh Khan. This documentary tracks his world tour with exclusive back stage interviews and his interaction with hysterical fans, a look at the craze and the magic of Shah Rukh Khan, states an official release.

In addition to this, on 1 & 2 November, SRK fans will be treated to his blockbuster movies like Swades, Kabhi Ha Kabhi Na, Asoka , Main Hoon Na, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Anjam, the release adds.

The channel has also arranged a Jabardast Badhai Contest wherein viewers can send in their wishes to the Bollywood hero. The best messages will be scrolled during the Jabardast Movie Mela and lucky winners will receive personally autographed DVD set of the documentaries and one lucky winner will get to meet the actor in person.

Talking about the marketing activities, Star TV EVP Marketing Ajay Vidyasagar said, “Star Gold has always brought Bollywood closer to the people in their living rooms. In addition to showing the biggest blockbusters, it has initiated activities which can bring viewers and fans closer to the stars and strengthen the unique bond they share. Celebrating Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday few weeks back was a great success and Star Gold got an overwhelming response from the masses for its promotional and marketing campaigns”.

Exec takes charge of MX sales and marketing after Raju Pullan’s exit

NEW DELHI: Samsung India has elevated Aditya Babbar to lead its mobile phone business, following the exit of Raju Antony Pullan.

Babbar, who previously served as vice president within the mobile division, has been appointed head of sales and marketing for the MX (mobile experience) business, effective May 1. In his new role, he will oversee the company’s sales and marketing operations for smartphones and related categories in India, reporting to the executive vice president of the MX business.

A long-time Samsung executive, Babbar brings over a decade of experience within the organisation, having held multiple leadership roles across product, marketing and category management. Most recently, he led product marketing and e-commerce for the mobile division, following earlier stints as head of product and marketing and senior director roles.

His career within Samsung Electronics and its India operations has also included responsibilities for flagship devices, tablets and wearables, giving him a broad view of the company’s premium and mass-market portfolio.

Babbar succeeds Pullan, who stepped down from the role, marking a leadership transition at a time when India remains a key battleground for global smartphone makers.

The appointment signals continuity within Samsung’s leadership bench, with an internal candidate stepping up to steer one of its most critical business units in a highly competitive market.
