BENGALURU: It is a new chair at the top table for Stanley. Luxury furniture maker Stanley Lifestyles Limited has elevated Venkataramana Gorti, popularly known as Venkat, from joint managing director to managing director, signalling the company’s ambitions for its next phase of growth in India’s premium and luxury home interiors market.

The appointment, effective from 27 May 2026, comes as Stanley looks to strengthen its leadership position in the fast-growing luxury furniture segment. The company said the move reflects a planned leadership transition aimed at accelerating expansion, enhancing customer experience, driving innovation and strengthening operational excellence.

Venkat has been a key figure in Stanley’s transformation efforts since joining the company. He has overseen initiatives focused on improving manufacturing efficiency, strengthening supply chain resilience and building scalable systems to support long-term growth. In his new role, he will be responsible for steering overall strategy and execution, while leading efforts to expand the brand’s retail footprint and deepen its presence across India.

Speaking on his appointment, Venkataramana Gorti said, “This elevation is both an honour and a responsibility. Stanley has built a remarkable legacy rooted in craftsmanship, design excellence and customer trust. As we look ahead, our focus will be on creating exceptional customer experiences, strengthening our capabilities and building a future-ready organisation that supports sustainable growth while remaining true to the values that define the Stanley brand.”

Industry veteran Venkat brings more than three decades of experience spanning strategy, operations, customer experience, supply chain management and business transformation. During his career, he has held leadership positions at organisations including ABB, Oracle, GE, Flextronics, Wipro Hydraulics, Honeywell and HOMAG, where he led large-scale transformation programmes and managed multicultural teams across global markets.

A mechanical engineering graduate and executive management programme alumnus of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Venkat has worked across sectors ranging from electronics and aerospace to hydraulics and woodworking. His international assignments have taken him across the Middle East, Malaysia, the United States, Brazil, Sweden, Finland and Romania, among other markets.

Commenting on the elevation, Stanley Lifestyles Limited chairman and founder Sunil Suresh said Venkat’s leadership had been instrumental in improving operational efficiency and organisational resilience. He added that the board was confident in his ability to guide the company through its next stage of expansion and value creation.

Beyond the boardroom, Venkat is a certified independent director, a Lean and Six Sigma Green Belt professional and a former chairperson of the Furniture Fittings Skill Council. He was also recognised among Asia’s Top 100 Inspirational Leaders in 2022.

With the leadership baton now firmly in Venkat’s hands, Stanley Lifestyles is betting that strong execution, operational rigour and a sharper focus on customer experience will help it furnish an even bigger presence in India’s luxury living space.
