MUMBAI: From key accounts to the corner office in seven years. Gautam Jain has been named chief business officer at Spykar Lifestyles Pvt. Ltd., starting a new chapter at the company where he has spent the last seven years and five months. He announced the move in a LinkedIn post, saying he was happy to share that he was starting the new position. The role began in October 2026 and is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, on-site.

The climb is worth tracing. Jain joined Spykar Lifestyles in June 2019 as head of key accounts, LFR, a post he held until March 2022. In April 2022 he became assistant vice president and business head, LFR and Spykar Woman, a role that ran until September 2025, three years and six months in all. In October 2025 he stepped up again, becoming vice president and business head, a position he held until September 2026. Now comes the chief business officer title. Four roles, one company, each bigger than the last. In a business where talent often hops between employers, that is a notable record of progress inside a single organisation.

The responsibilities have widened with each step. Running key accounts is about relationships. Heading the LFR business and Spykar Woman adds a business-head remit and a second product line to the mix. The vice president role broadened the job further, and the new title sits at the top of the commercial structure. Spykar Lifestyles has, in effect, promoted a leader who knows the business from the account desk upwards.

The earlier career explains the grounding. Before Spykar Lifestyles, Jain was category manager, men’s youth, at Central (Future Lifestyle Fashion Limited) in Bangalore from July 2018 to June 2019, working on men’s jeanswear and casual fashion. Before that, he spent seven years and three months at Shoppers Stop, from April 2011 to June 2018, as senior manager, buying and merchandising, again in men’s jeanswear and casual fashion, based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. He began his career as a senior merchandiser at J.K. Fabrics Bangalore Private Limited from January 2004 to November 2010, a stint of six years and 11 months in the Greater Bengaluru Area.

Put those pieces together and a pattern emerges. Jain started on the fabric and merchandising side, built deep expertise in buying and merchandising at two well-known retail names, and then moved into brand-side leadership at Spykar Lifestyles. His focus on men’s jeanswear and casual fashion runs through two of his three earlier roles after the fabric years. That mix of supply-side, retail-side and brand-side experience, across more than two decades, is a sensible grounding for a chief business officer.

The appointment sends a quiet but clear signal. Promoting from within rewards performance and keeps institutional knowledge in the building. For Spykar Lifestyles, it offers continuity at the top of its business. For Jain, it is the next rung on a ladder he has climbed steadily since 2019.
