MUMBAI: Signpost India is taking its advertising business for a ride, securing a five-year contract from Chalo Mobility Private Ltd to sell advertising space on premium buses running along Mumbai’s key arterial roads. The out-of-home (OOH) advertising company estimates the deal could generate gross advertising revenue of approximately Rs 36 crore over its tenure.

Disclosed in a regulatory filing under the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not involve a related-party transaction.

The agreement gives advertisers an opportunity to reach commuters across busy city routes, taking campaigns beyond stationary billboards and street furniture. With buses moving through multiple neighbourhoods, transit advertising can offer brands visibility across different parts of Mumbai during daily journeys.

However, the Rs 36 crore figure is an estimate of gross advertising revenue over five years. Signpost India has not disclosed a year-wise revenue breakdown, a detailed execution schedule or whether the estimate represents a guaranteed minimum. The actual revenue contribution will therefore depend on the contract’s execution and advertising sales.

The development comes as Signpost India reports growth in its June 2026 quarter earnings. Revenue from operations rose 10.6 per cent year-on-year to Rs 152.26 crore from Rs 137.65 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Sequentially, however, revenue declined from Rs 161.92 crore in the March 2026 quarter.

Total income for the June quarter stood at Rs 153.07 crore, compared with Rs 138.75 crore a year earlier. Other income fell to Rs 0.81 crore from Rs 1.10 crore.

Profit before tax climbed 26.3 per cent year-on-year to Rs 25.60 crore from Rs 20.28 crore, while profit after tax increased 22.2 per cent to Rs 18.66 crore from Rs 15.27 crore.

Total expenses rose 7.6 per cent to Rs 127.47 crore from Rs 118.47 crore in the year-ago quarter. Cost of services, the company’s largest expense item, increased to Rs 93.45 crore from Rs 84.95 crore.

The Chalo Mobility contract adds another transit advertising opportunity to Signpost India’s business as it looks to tap commuter movement across Mumbai. The key measure will be how effectively the company converts the five-year arrangement into advertising revenue while sustaining the profitability gains reported in the latest quarter.
