Standalone revenue reaches Rs 3,007 crore as jewellery demand lifts Senco Gold in Q1 FY27
MUMBAI: Senco Gold has struck a brighter note in the first quarter, with the jewellery retailer reporting a sharp rise in revenue even as profit growth remained more measured. Standalone revenue from operations jumped 64.8 per cent year-on-year to Rs 3,006.7 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 1,824.6 crore in the year-ago quarter.
The Kolkata-based jeweller’s profit after tax rose 10.4 per cent to Rs 114.2 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, against Rs 103.5 crore in the same period last year. Profit before tax increased 9.2 per cent to Rs 153 crore from Rs 140.1 crore.
Total income for the quarter stood at Rs 3,021.9 crore, up from Rs 1,842.2 crore a year earlier. The sharper increase in revenue, however, came alongside higher expenses, which rose to Rs 2,868.9 crore from Rs 1,702.1 crore.
Costs rose across several lines. Cost of materials consumed increased to Rs 1,952.7 crore from Rs 1,481 crore, while purchases of stock-in-trade stood at Rs 526.5 crore, compared with Rs 554.6 crore in the year-ago quarter. Employee benefits expense rose to Rs 47.3 crore from Rs 39.5 crore, while finance costs increased to Rs 66.5 crore from Rs 42.3 crore.
Senco’s quarterly earnings also show the impact of the jewellery business’s scale. The company’s standalone earnings per share rose to Rs 6.97 from Rs 6.32 in Q1 FY26, while diluted EPS also stood at Rs 6.97 compared with Rs 6.31 a year earlier.
On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations rose 67.4 per cent to Rs 3,056 crore from Rs 1,826.3 crore in the corresponding quarter. However, consolidated profit after tax attributable to owners of the parent declined to Rs 101.1 crore from Rs 104.7 crore a year earlier.
The company identified jewellery business as its single operating segment, according to the financial results. During the quarter, Senco also allotted 31,977 equity shares of Rs 5 each to eligible employees under its Employee Stock Option Scheme 2018.
The results were reviewed by the audit committee and approved by Senco Gold’s board on 11 August 2026, with Walker Chandiok & Co LLP conducting the limited review of the unaudited results.
