MUMBAI: Forget stars. S:19 Skinlabs is putting a rupee sign in the spotlight. The contemporary skincare brand has launched ‘S:19 Attention Day’, a one-day campaign that makes Rs 1 the centrepiece of its brand communication, replacing the celebrity face that typically dominates beauty advertising.

The campaign will go live on 9 October 2026, giving consumers the opportunity to purchase any S:19 product for Rs 1 exclusively through the brand’s website, subject to limited stock and applicable terms and conditions.

Built around the thought, “We don’t have stars in our ads. So we made Rs 1 the star,” the campaign takes aim at the familiar celebrity and influencer-led approach to beauty marketing. Instead, S:19 is betting that an unusually low price can do the attention-grabbing itself.

The brand describes Attention Day as an experiment in the attention economy, with the Rs 1 symbol taking on the visual role normally reserved for a celebrity. The campaign uses a contemporary editorial aesthetic, a concrete-brutalist studio setting and clean product photography to keep the proposition and products at the centre.

Commenting on the campaign, S:19 Skinlabs co-founder Sindhura Narla said, “Attention today is often built around who is in the campaign rather than what the campaign has to say or the products are. We wanted to challenge that convention in a way that felt true to S:19. Rs 1 is simple, unexpected and impossible to ignore, so instead of putting a star in our ad, we decided to make Rs 1 the star.”

The campaign also reflects S:19’s positioning around the idea that “skin has phases”, with the brand arguing that skincare routines should evolve as skin needs change.

Its Phase 1 range features capsule creams that combine targeted formulations with a distinctive format designed around changing skincare requirements. Attention Day is intended to give first-time consumers a low-barrier way to experience the range while introducing them to the brand’s larger proposition.

S:19 Skinlabs co-founder Monica Ravilla said the campaign was designed around simplicity rather than a complicated promotional mechanic.

“Attention Day is not about making a complicated offer. It is about creating a simple idea that people notice, remember and want to talk about. For us, Rs 1 became more than a price point; it became the creative idea that brings the entire campaign to life,” Ravilla said.

The campaign comes as beauty brands increasingly compete for attention across crowded social and digital feeds, where celebrity associations and influencer collaborations remain a common route to visibility. S:19’s approach instead makes the offer itself the creative hook.

Attention Day will run for one day only on 9 October at the brand’s website, with limited stock and applicable terms and conditions.

S:19 Skinlabs is owned by S19 Formulations Pvt Ltd and was founded by Narla and Ravilla. The brand develops skincare formulations around different skin needs and is also building a wider education and community ecosystem through Skin School India, focused on informed and intentional skincare.

For S:19, the campaign turns a familiar symbol into an unlikely brand ambassador. Whether Rs 1 can command the kind of attention usually reserved for a star will be put to the test on Attention Day.
