Romal Shetty to continue as Deloitte South Asia CEO with second four-year term
Reappointment from April 2027 comes as Deloitte doubles down on AI, innovation and expansion
MUMBAI: Deloitte South Asia has reappointed Romal Shetty as its chief executive officer for a second four-year term, effective April 1, 2027, following a nomination process and an affirmation vote by partners.
The decision extends Shetty’s leadership beyond his first term, which began in April 2023 and coincided with one of Deloitte India’s fastest periods of expansion.
During his tenure, Deloitte India has grown to become the sixth-largest Deloitte member firm globally and the third-largest consulting practice worldwide after the US and UK. The firm has also outlined its ambition to become India’s largest professional services firm by 2028 through continued investments in consulting, technology, innovation and talent.
Shetty’s second term is expected to build on that strategy with a focus on shaping the “Business of Tomorrow”. According to sources at Deloitte India, the firm will continue to prioritise AI-led transformation, platform-based innovation, managed services, industry-specific solutions and its ‘Project Bharat’ initiative aimed at expanding operations across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
The company also plans to deepen investments in digital capabilities and talent while evolving its business model to support long-term growth. The next phase of expansion is expected to strengthen India’s position as a global hub for innovation, product development, skilled talent and next-generation business solutions.
The reappointment comes as professional services firms increasingly invest in artificial intelligence and digital transformation to meet rising enterprise demand while expanding their presence beyond metropolitan markets.
