MUMBAI: Some SUVs promise the road less travelled. The Duster built its reputation by making people want to find it. Renault is now tapping into that legacy with a new special edition that celebrates the adventurous spirit which made the SUV a household name in India.

Renault India has launched the Duster Adventure Edition, a special version of its iconic SUV, with prices starting at Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Inspired by the adventurous image long associated with the Duster, the edition blends distinctive styling elements with premium features while paying tribute to the vehicle’s off-road heritage.

The special edition was unveiled on Bastille Day by H.E. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India, and Stéphane Deblaise, CEO of Renault Group India, highlighting the French automaker’s engineering heritage and the Duster’s enduring popularity among Indian customers.

Speaking at the launch, Deblaise said the Duster had earned a unique place in the lives of Indian consumers through countless journeys and memorable experiences, adding that the Adventure Edition celebrates the lasting connection people continue to have with the iconic SUV.

The Adventure Edition is available in Turbo TCe 100 MT, Turbo TCe 160 MT and Turbo TCe 160 DCT variants, priced at Rs 12.99 lakh, Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 15.39 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.

The new edition introduces exclusive exterior graphics featuring topographical contour lines and the geographical coordinates of Leh (34.27 N, 77.60 E), a nod to the demanding terrain where the Duster built much of its rugged reputation. It also receives exclusive Adventure embellishers and premium Adventure floor mats.

Beyond the cosmetic updates, Renault has equipped the SUV with several premium features, including full LED headlamps, an electric panoramic sunroof, an electric powered tailgate, automatic dual-zone climate control, connected car services through the My Renault app and a 25.65 cm (10.1-inch) openR link multimedia system.

The SUV also rides on 43.18 cm (17-inch) Ocean alloy wheels, reinforcing its adventure-focused positioning.

With the Adventure Edition, Renault is leveraging one of its strongest brand assets in India as it seeks to keep the Duster nameplate relevant in an increasingly competitive SUV market, where nostalgia, lifestyle appeal and premium features are becoming as important as outright performance.
