Rediffusion appoints Amitava Sinha as managing partner

MUMBAI: It’s a familiar face returning to familiar turf. Rediffusion Brand Solutions has appointed industry veteran Amitava Sinha as managing partner to oversee its operations across East India, as the agency looks to strengthen its presence in one of the country’s fastest-growing advertising markets.

Sinha brings nearly four decades of experience in marketing communications, spanning brand management, advertising, corporate communications and public relations. He began his career in the mid-1980s with Reckitt in marketing before moving into advertising, where he held senior leadership roles at agencies including JWT, McCann Erickson and Bates.

This is not Sinha’s first stint with Rediffusion. Between 2003 and 2015, he held several leadership positions within the agency, eventually serving as chief operating officer from 2011 to 2015. During that period, he worked closely with Diwan Arun Nanda, one of the agency’s most influential leaders.

After leaving Rediffusion, Sinha worked as an independent consultant, advising organisations across sectors on branding, corporate communications and public relations.

Announcing the appointment, Rediffusion Brand Solutions managing director Sandeep Goyal said the agency is expanding its national footprint and sees strong growth opportunities in eastern India.

Goyal said Sinha’s extensive experience in managing leading brands, building long-term client relationships and developing talent would further strengthen Rediffusion’s capabilities. He added that buoyant demand from eastern markets makes the region strategically important, with Sinha tasked with accelerating business growth across the geography.

Speaking on his return, Amitava Sinha described the move as a homecoming. He said returning to the agency was both exciting and emotional, adding that while the advertising ecosystem has evolved considerably since his previous tenure, he looks forward to partnering with Goyal to take Rediffusion to its next phase of growth.

The agency also confirmed that Sreeparna Sengupta will continue to head Rediffusion’s Kolkata office and will work closely with Sinha as the company strengthens its operations in the region.

The appointment comes at a time when agencies are increasingly focusing on regional markets to fuel growth beyond the major metros. With a seasoned leader back in the fold, Rediffusion is aiming to give its eastern business a fresh push while building on relationships that have stood the test of time.
