realme announces Harry Potter Edition of realme 16 Pro 5G
New Warner Bros collaboration follows Game of Thrones themed realme 15 Pro
MUMBAI: Accio smartphone! realme is bringing a little wizardry to the mobile market, teaming up with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products for a Harry Potter-themed edition of its upcoming realme 16 Pro 5G.
The collaboration marks the latest crossover between the smartphone maker and Warner Bros. Discovery, following the realme 15 Pro Game of Thrones Limited Edition. The new Harry Potter Edition aims to turn the familiar wizarding world into a smartphone experience while retaining realme’s contemporary design language.
Harry Potter has grown from a book and film franchise into a global pop-culture phenomenon spanning generations. realme is now looking to tap into that fandom by combining the franchise’s visual identity with everyday technology aimed at younger consumers.
Xu Qi, Vice President and CMO of realme, said the partnership is intended to make technology more engaging while encouraging young users to explore their own ambitions and creativity.
For the realme 16 Pro 5G Harry Potter Edition, the wizarding world has been worked into the device’s design, with the two brands also creating an exclusive co-branded logo. The collaboration is positioned as an extension of realme’s ‘Make it real’ philosophy, rather than simply a cosmetic makeover.
The partnership comes as realme continues to build its presence among younger smartphone users globally. The company says its community has surpassed 300 million users, giving its franchise-led devices a sizeable potential audience.
The Harry Potter collaboration also extends a relationship with Warner Bros. Discovery that has now covered two generations of realme’s number series. The earlier realme 15 Pro Game of Thrones Limited Edition marked the first such crossover, with the Harry Potter Edition continuing the strategy of bringing major entertainment properties into consumer technology.
For realme, the appeal of such collaborations goes beyond specifications. The company is increasingly using entertainment franchises to give its devices a stronger visual identity and create a connection with fans who may see smartphones as an extension of their personal interests.
The realme 16 Pro 5G Harry Potter Edition is the latest example of that strategy, blending one of the world’s best-known fantasy franchises with a mainstream technology product.
While realme has announced the collaboration, it has yet to disclose key details such as the phone’s price, availability, launch date and the specific hardware or software features that will distinguish the Harry Potter Edition from the standard realme 16 Pro 5G.
