PV Sindhu named brand ambassador for Hero Future Energies
Two-time Olympic medallist joins renewable energy firm as it expands its clean power portfolio
MUMBAI: From smashing shuttlecocks to powering a cleaner future, PV Sindhu is taking on a new court. Hero Future Energies (HFE), the renewable energy arm of the Hero Group, has appointed the two-time Olympic medallist and 2019 World Champion as its brand ambassador.
The partnership brings together Sindhu’s sporting journey and HFE’s push into renewable energy, with the company positioning the association around ambition, perseverance and India’s transition towards a cleaner and more energy-secure future.
Rahul Munjal, founder and chairman, Hero Future Energies, said the country has an opportunity to build an economy that is not only larger but also cleaner and more energy-secure. He added that while sport and clean energy operate in different arenas, both require ambitious goals and sustained commitment.
Sindhu said she had seen what India could achieve on the world stage and believes the country is “only getting started”. She added that clean energy would play an important role in powering India’s growth and creating a better future for generations to come.
The association comes as HFE enters its next phase of expansion after 14 years in India’s renewable energy sector. The company currently has a total portfolio of 7.7 GWp of renewable energy assets and 2.9 GWh of battery energy storage capacity, including operational and under-development projects.
A growing part of that portfolio comprises more complex power solutions, including Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) and Round-the-Clock (RTC) power. HFE is also expanding into areas such as energy storage and green hydrogen.
For Sindhu, whose career includes two Olympic medals and a 2019 World Championship title, the partnership adds a clean-energy chapter to a sporting story that has already taken her to the global stage.
For HFE, the association comes as it looks to build a larger role in meeting India’s growing energy needs. The common thread, the company says, is less about sport versus energy and more about pushing today’s limits to create opportunities for tomorrow.
