Priyanka Waghre joins flipkart as senior director, corporate communications
Former Meta, Myntra and Eli Lilly communications leader returns to Flipkart fold
BENGALURU: Flipkart has strengthened its communications leadership with the appointment of Priyanka Waghre as senior director, corporate communications. Waghre brings experience from companies including Meta, Myntra, Koo and Eli Lilly and Company.
Waghre announced the move via a LinkedIn post, revealing that she recently concluded her stint at Eli Lilly and Company before taking up the new role at Flipkart in April 2026.
In her new position, she will oversee corporate communications for the e-commerce giant, helping shape narratives around the company’s business growth, innovation initiatives, partnerships and broader impact on India’s digital economy.
Reflecting on the transition, Priyanka Waghre said, “A few weeks ago, I closed a short but deeply fulfilling chapter at Eli Lilly and Company and began a new one at Flipkart as Senior Director, Corporate Communications.”
She added that her time at Lilly offered a close view of the company’s impact on healthcare outcomes in India and globally, while expressing gratitude to colleagues and leaders she worked alongside during her tenure.
The return to Flipkart comes at a pivotal time for India’s e-commerce sector, which continues to expand its reach across smaller cities and towns while creating new opportunities for sellers, entrepreneurs and consumers.
Speaking about the move, Waghre said she was excited to rejoin the organisation “at a time when e-commerce is creating economic opportunity, empowering entrepreneurs, and expanding access for millions of consumers across India.”
Waghre brings with her more than a decade of communications leadership experience across technology, retail, healthcare and social media sectors. Most recently, she spent nearly a year at Eli Lilly and Company, where she led communications and social media strategy for the company’s Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru and worked on reputation-building initiatives in India’s healthcare ecosystem.
Before Lilly, she served as Director and Head of Communications at Koo, steering global communications efforts and managing reputation strategy during a period of significant regulatory and competitive challenges.
Her earlier roles include leading product and innovation communications at Meta and heading corporate communications at Myntra. During her Myntra tenure, she played a key role in communications surrounding the company’s integration with Jabong and the broader Walmart-Flipkart ecosystem.
With experience spanning technology, healthcare, social media and fashion commerce, Waghre’s return signals Flipkart’s continued focus on strengthening its corporate reputation and stakeholder engagement as competition intensifies across India’s digital commerce landscape.
As India’s e-commerce story enters its next phase of growth, Flipkart has brought back a familiar voice to help tell it.
