MUMBAI: Eight years, four names on the door and one constant. Prince Mishra has signed off from Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios, closing a run that took him from a fast, experimental MX Player to the biggest streaming brand in the business. His farewell is short on drama and long on thanks.

Mishra, a creator of creative and innovative ideas, effective on-air promotions, promos, writing and promotional campaigns, joined MX Player by Prime Video eight years ago. It was, he recalls, a very different place: fast, ambitious, experimental and still working out what it could become. What followed, he says, was a journey he could never have planned. MX Player merged with miniTV. Then came Amazon MX Player. Eventually, Prime Video. The names, businesses, teams, buildings and roles kept changing. The opportunity to build, create, learn and work with exceptional people did not.

The range of work is striking. Mishra worked across Originals, Fatafat, TakaTak, MX Games, Vdesi, movies and everything that came with the early MX journey. He went on to lead creative teams and to work on some of the biggest launches and campaigns at Prime Video.

His reflection is the sort that leaders rarely put in writing. Growth, Mishra says, is not always about a new title or the next promotion. Sometimes it is about being trusted with something you have never done before. Sometimes it is about making difficult calls, learning from mistakes, finding your voice and having people around you who make you better. He is grateful for every one of those experiences. But more than the work, he says, he will remember the people.

The paper trail backs up the story. Since September 2024 Mishra has been lead of creative at Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios in Mumbai. He owned the end-to-end creative and marketing charter for AVOD originals and platform tentpoles across India. That meant driving creative marketing from concept to launch: campaign strategy, trailer and promo cuts, on-platform design, and on-ground and digital shoots. He built and managed a cross-functional creative team covering creative, design and video, alongside external agency and production partners for shoots and campaign assets. He worked with the marketing, brand, content, programming, sales and platform teams, and set the creative marketing playbook for AVOD originals in India.

Before that, Mishra spent six years and two months at MX Player by Prime Video in Mumbai. He was head of creative from September 2022 to September 2024, heading creative promotions for MX Player and MX Takatak, spanning brand, titles and library. He was senior creative producer from August 2020 to September 2022, and creative producer from August 2018 to September 2020.

The groundwork was laid elsewhere. Mishra was content producer at roundglass rise from November 2017 to August 2018, part of the core team building a scripted and unscripted show slate and leading end-to-end execution, from pre-production and shoot to post-production and final deliveries. He was senior producer at Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd from November 2016 to October 2017. He was promo producer at Epic Channel India from March 2015 to October 2016, and promo producer and promo editor at Reliance Broadcast Network Limited from September 2013 to February 2015. From August 2008 to August 2013 he worked as a content producer and freelance editor in Mumbai.

Then comes the thank-you list, and it is a long one. Mishra begins his gratitude with Karan Bedi, Aruna Daryanani, Amogh Dusad, Gulshan Verma, Priyanka Khaneja Gandhi, Sonal Kabi, Kali Sayak Mukherjee, Tisson Thomas, Sushant Naik, Naveen Bhatia, Deepak Raj, Mayuri Kane, Niraj Mishra, Aditya Singhal, Dina DSouza, Dheeman Agarwala, Brijesh Tanna, Tejpaal Singh Rawwat, Anand Jain, Shikha Vij, Abhishek Vakil, Sankalp Pradhan, Rasna Bami, Jithin Emmanuel Jacob, Ashish Shah, Shreyans Shrimali, Inderjit Kaaul, Megha Pathak, Ashray Sachdeva, Ajay Singh, Sufiyan Khan, Namita Vora, Srajan Sikroria, Nehal Garg, Alisha Khanna, Naiel D., Saif Shaikh, Shubhi Grover, Sunny Arora, Parag Ahire, Kanika Lungani, Uddyan, Amit Rajput, Dinanath Rewatkar, Gauri Joshi, Niketa, Rahul, Jiggy, “and so many more”. To everyone he had the privilege of working with, he says thank you for being part of this chapter.

Mishra signs off with a very full heart and an even fuller list of things to be grateful for. The journey from MX Player to Prime Video, he says, has been anything but linear. “And honestly, that’s what made it special.” Onwards.
