MUMBAI: OPPO India is giving smartphone launches a fresh spin. OPPO India has introduced Reno Land, a new experiential platform designed to transform product unveilings into immersive lifestyle events, with the Reno16 Series serving as its debut showcase.

Held in Malad, Mumbai, and Indiranagar, Bengaluru, between July 2 and July 12, Reno Land combined technology demonstrations with music, fashion, fitness and creator-led experiences to engage younger consumers beyond the conventional launch format.

The multi-city activation featured interactive zones such as Fit Check Alley, Pop Cam Studio, AI Remix Collage Café, Bubble Wrap and an IoT Zone, allowing visitors to explore the Reno16 Series’ artificial intelligence features, camera capabilities and connected ecosystem through hands-on activities.

Instead of relying on static product displays, the experience encouraged attendees to create content and interact with the devices in settings designed to reflect everyday lifestyles.

The event also leaned heavily into entertainment, featuring appearances by Orry and Avneet Kaur, alongside performances by OutStation, Kings United Dance Crew, Danish & Crew and Punjabi singer Riar Saab.

Visitors also participated in activities including a Reno16 Treasure Hunt and flash mob performances that highlighted the smartphone’s AI-powered features.

Beyond the event venues, OPPO partnered with Rove Run Club and Daud Run Club to organise community runs, while collaborations with Distil and DJ Suggahunny brought coffee rave events that blended music, fitness and café culture.

Recognising the growing role of digital creators in influencing purchase decisions, the company invited more than 100 creators, including college influencers, to experience the Reno16 Series and share content across their social media platforms.

With Reno Land, OPPO is positioning smartphone launches as cultural experiences rather than standalone product announcements, reflecting a broader shift among consumer technology brands towards community-driven engagement. By combining technology with entertainment and creator culture, the company aims to make future launches as much about participation as product features.
