OpenAI hires The Trade Desk’s Samantha Jacobson as VP of partnerships- monetization
Media reports say ad tech veteran will drive partnerships and revenue strategy
MUMBAI: OpenAI has reportedly appointed Samantha Jacobson as vice president of partnerships (monetization), strengthening its leadership team as the company sharpens its focus on long-term revenue and partnership growth.
According to media reports, Jacobson is joining the AI company from The Trade Desk, where she most recently served as chief strategy officer. She is expected to oversee monetisation partnerships spanning advertising, distribution, platform infrastructure, and emerging business models.
Reports added that she will report to Torben Severson and is likely to begin her new role later this month.
Jacobson will continue to retain her seat on the board of directors at The Trade Desk despite stepping away from her executive responsibilities there.
Before joining The Trade Desk in 2021, Jacobson spent several years at Oracle, where she worked across strategy, business development, and data partnerships for Oracle Data Cloud. Her earlier experience also includes roles at eBay and Milo.com, with a focus on marketplace strategy and partnerships.
An alumna of Harvard Business School and the University of Pennsylvania, Jacobson brings more than a decade of experience across advertising technology, platform strategy, and digital partnerships.
The appointment comes as OpenAI continues expanding its commercial operations and exploring new monetisation avenues amid growing competition in the AI space.
